Stephen Colbert mocked the Dem Party and Bill Clinton in a brutal segment on his show last night. Bill Clinton attacked Trump last night and surprisingly, Colbert would not let him get away with it.
Clinton ripped Trump for his response to the pandemic and called the White House is a storm center. Colbert mocked him and hit him where it hurts shutting down the now-disgraced former president:
“I don’t think Bill Clinton gets to lecture anyone on what should happen in the Oval Office.”
From The Daily Mail:
Stephen Colbert has mocked the Democrats for featuring Bill Clinton discussing the importance of the Oval Office and lecturing President Donald Trump about his behavior.
Colbert, in his nightly riff off the two-hour convention, joked that Clinton’s expression was of shock – ‘seen here finding out Ghislaine Maxwell was just arrested,’ he joked.
‘The former president let Trump have it,’ Colbert said, cutting to show a clip of Clinton stating that the Oval Office ‘should be a command center.’
‘Instead, it is a storm center,’ Clinton said in his speech.
Colbert commented: ‘Alright, that’s true, that’s a good point.
‘But I don’t think Bill Clinton gets to lecture anyone on what should happen in the Oval Office.
‘Those in glass houses should not be allowed near the interns.’
Chris Wallace from Fox News seemed to like Clinton’s speech:
“It was only five minutes. As I say, it was pre-taped,” Wallace said. “But I thought he made a more cogent argument about how Donald Trump has mishandled the coronavirus than any I’ve heard from anybody.”
“After the 2012 speech, Barack Obama called him the ‘secretary of explaining things,'” Wallace added. “And even today, even in this diminished role, Bill Clinton is still the ‘secretary of explaining things.'”
