Roseanne Barr Gets Last Laugh After ABC Caved To Liberal Hysteria

ABC caved to the worst kind of liberal hysteria and canceled Roseanne Barr’s reboot. It was a cowardly decision made by people terrified of the politically correct police swarming our country.

Comedians, at the very least, should not have to put up with the PC garbage that the left demands the rest of us deal with and the blowback to ABC was swift and fierce.

They trotted out a new show without Roseanne and it tanked badly and now we are learning what the decision to fire Roseanne cost ABC.

Because the year-end ratings are in and Roseanne Barr is getting the last laugh. From The Washington Times:

Nielsen Media Research numbers now reveal that “Roseanne” — starring Ms. Barr — was the most-watched series of 2018, besting such powerhouse shows as “The Big Bang Theory,” “America’s Got Talent,” and “NCIS.”

When Roseanne was actually starring on her namesake program — which included positive mentions of President Trump and conservative values — the show easily pulled in 20 million viewers.

“That’s right, folks! The most watched series in 2018 is’t even on the air any more. The ‘Roseanne‘ revival pulled in huge numbers during its first season back on ABC, and it was well on its way to dominating the broadcast audience,” noted a TV Guide analysis.

From Business Insider: Despite its cancellation earlier this year, the short-lived “Roseanne” reboot still came out on top as 2018’s biggest show.

Nielsen released its list of the year’s highest-rated shows this week, and the usual suspects like “This Is Us and “The Big Bang Theory” were also included. NBC’s new drama, “Manifest,” which premiered in September, also crept onto the list.

“Roseanne” held tight the entire year as the biggest show of 2018 since it premiered in March. The revival was quickly canceled after one season after the show’s star Roseanne Barr tweeted a racist remark at former Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett. It was replaced with a spin-off named “The Conners,” which premiered in October to lower, but not bad, ratings.
