California Governor Gavin Newsom and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis have been waging a slow-burning feud in anticipation of a possible fight for the presidency in 2028 or 2024.
Most don’t think President Joe Biden will run again and according to recent polls, a huge majority of Dem voters do not want Joe to run again. Gavin thinks he is the guy and based on the Dem’s weak bench he may be.
DeSantis has an election coming up against Charlie Crist in Florida and is the clear GOP frontrunner for the nomination in 2028 or 2024 if Trump decides not to run. Newsom has been running ads in Florida denouncing DeSantis claiming “freedom is under attack” and just donated $100,000 to the campaign of Charlie Crist.
DeSantis fired back at one point saying he sees “a lot of California license plates in his state, if you go to California, you ain’t seeing very many Florida license plates.”
LOL! Gavin Newsom's father and mother in-law donated to Ron DeSantis! https://t.co/GD4VvDSFKR #FoxNews

DeSantis has otherwise ignored Gavin like a gnat but still managed to get the last laugh after records show Newsom’s father and mother-in-law donated to DeSantis.
Ouch.
From Fox News:
According to contribution records on the Friends of Ron DeSantis PAC website, the Siebel Family Revocable Trust made a $5,000 contribution on April 6, 2022.
That trust is run by Kenneth F. Siebel Jr. and Judith A. Siebel, the parents of Newsom’s wife, Jennifer Siebel, records obtained by Fox News Digital show.
Newsom’s father-in-law Kenneth Siebel has a long history of making donations to GOP candidates, according to Federal Election Commission filings.
His most recent donations include contributions to the campaigns of Republicans Sens. Ron Johnson, Tom Cotton and Josh Hawley.
