Rand Paul Throws Cold Water On Bob Mueller’s New Plan To Get Trump

Rand Paul is not having any more of the nonsense surrounding Michael Cohen and how it may or may not affect President Trump.

Two words for any liberal Democrat who thinks campaign finance violations will bring down a sitting president of the United States of America – John Edwards.

Edwards paid hush money to keep a woman silent but claimed he did it to save his family the embarrassment.

Clearly, Trump did the same and remember, voters knew who Trump was even after the infamous Access Hollywood tape – does the left really think more women coming forward would have made a difference?

Of course not. No reasonable person does just as no reasonable person understands the difference between our campaign finance laws and straight bribery.

Dark money, Super PAC’s, citizens united, Bob Menendez, etc…no one, not even the politicians know what is legal and not for the most part.

One Virginian governor was convicted and then had that overturned on appeal – in other words, the system is a mess. From WKMS:

Kentucky Senator Rand Paul says that even if President Donald Trump paid hush money to two mistresses during the 2016 presidential campaign, the payments shouldn’t be considered campaign violations.

Paul went on to say that even if federal election officials find the president guilty of breaking campaign finance law, the violations shouldn’t be considered crimes.

Paul made the comments after a press conference in Louisville where he was advocating for a federal criminal justice reform bill.

“I don’t think that campaign violations should be criminal. We make things too criminal,” Paul said.

“Here we are at a criminal justice reform [event] primarily thinking of some of our poor, disadvantaged citizens who have gotten involved with a crime. But it also can happen to people of all walks of life.”

Trump agreed tweeting out: “Democrats can’t find a Smocking Gun tying the Trump campaign to Russia after James Comey’s testimony. No Smocking Gun…No Collusion.” @FoxNews That’s because there was NO COLLUSION. So now the Dems go to a simple private transaction, wrongly call it a campaign contribution,…

….which it was not (but even if it was, it is only a CIVIL CASE, like Obama’s – but it was done correctly by a lawyer and there would not even be a fine. Lawyer’s liability if he made a mistake, not me). Cohen just trying to get his sentence reduced. WITCH HUNT!
