NY LT Gov Melts Down, Demands Trump Rescind Pardon of Susan B Anthony: ‘Trump Treated Her Like A Criminal”

“As the highest-ranking woman elected official in New York and on behalf of Susan B. Anthony’s legacy we demand Trump rescind his pardon,” New York Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul said as she melted down over Trump trying to do a good thing.

She continued, “She was proud of her arrest to draw attention to the cause for women’s rights, and never paid her fine. Let her Rest In Peace.”

She even said this about Trump trying to honor an American hero: “I was deeply troubled to learn that Trump went ahead and treated her like a criminal.”

She said of Trump:

“I stopped a long time trying to figure out why he does what he does, but this was not to honor her. I don’t know why he did what he did, but I assure you it was not with the best interest of the public at heart.”

From Fox News:

President Trump announced Tuesday morning he will give a posthumous pardon to Susan B. Anthony, one of history’s biggest figures in the women’s suffrage movement.

The announcement came 100 years to the day after the 1920 ratification of the 19th Amendment, which gave women the right to vote.

Anthony, a strong anti-slavery pioneer who died in 1906, had been arrested in 1872 for violating laws that had permitted only men to vote in the presidential election.

She was then indicted, tried and convicted for voting illegally and sentenced to pay a fine of $100 and court costs.

The historic New Yorker described her two-day trial in June 1873 as “the greatest judicial outrage history has ever recorded,” according to The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration.
