Mark Cuban Silences AOC: “Thank you for making my point, find a way to make it work, now”

Sen. Ted Cruz feuded with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez over the stalled stimulus but it was Mark Cuban who got the last laugh.

“People across the country are going hungry, COVID is set to explode, and Mitch McConnell dismissed the Senate last week,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “I don’t know how these people can sleep at night. I really don’t.”

“Why is your party filibustering $500 billion in COVID relief?” Cruz shot back.

Ted continued, “And Joe Biden is cheering them on. Thinking that blocking relief somehow helps Dems win Georgia. AOC seems not to know there are Democrats in the Senate. Or that Joe Biden (also a Dem) is publicly calling on Senate Dems to continue filibustering COVID relief because he thinks it will help them win Georgia.”

Mark Cuban said,

“Translation of @aoc “My party good, your party bad”  Translation of @tedcruz. “My party good, your party bad” Translation of the American People, “If either of you really cared about those in need you would find a way to make it work, now”

AOC said,

“With respect @mcuban, this is not a “both sides” situation. The Senate literally skipped town. They’re not even trying. As much as it makes people feel good to say “a pox on both your houses” the fact of the matter is it’s a one-sided situation trying to escape accountability.”

Mark Cuban fired back: “Obviously that is the case today. I didn’t see you calling out Pelosi for not being willing to compromise, nor did I see any Senators doing the same to McConnell.”

“Until we break that power logjam we get the unproductive feast and famine, your-side, myside politics we face today.”

AOC said,

“Pelosi compromised & accepted the $4 trillion leveraged Wall St bailout the GOP demanded as a condition for passing the 1st stimulus check in CARES.

“It was (& is) a horrible deal that will structurally slant our economy against small biz for a long time. But she did accept it.

I don’t say this to point fingers, but if we only say “shame on both” & don’t actually drill down to see *what* is holding things up then it’s just performance.

“Right now GOP is demanding a full liability waiver for corps so they can expose workers to COVID w/o repercussion.”

And there it is – if they really believed all the horrible things they say about Trump in the media do you think they would have given Trump and Mnuchin control of basically a 4 trillion slush fund with zero oversight? Of course not so now we see the masks come off and their true faces shine on through.

Mark responded:

“The underlying issue here is the positions of Sen Maj Leader and Speaker have become too powerful.  My hope is that we either have no parties,(~not possible), or the Dems split into Mods/Progressives and the Reps split into Conservatives/Trumpsters . That could lead to change.

“What changed before they skipped town?  You see and feel the hardship out there. Could you actually offer a change to the bill, or a new bill, that could be voted on ?  Would Pelosi allow it to even be considered ? Would Cruz have the same issue with MCConnell ? It is both sides.

“There is no difference. @AOC knows they can pare back the House Bill and @tedcruz knows they can add to the Sen offering. The only place I can be wrong is the fact that McConnel and Pelosi truly have all the power and @AOC and @Tedcruz and their peers have none.

He ended with the devastating, “Thank you for making my point. When the “other side” is always at fault and that’s all you see, nothing gets done.”
