Chuck Grassley Embarrasses Dems Hoping To Impeach Trump With Brutal Truth About Key Witness

The left is out there gloating and dancing on the political grave of President Donald Trump and it is backfiring in a most embarrassing way.

Math is a stubborn thing and you either have the votes or you do not have the votes to impeach Trump. The House doesn’t matter as the real game will be played in the Senate.

That said, Pelosi doesn’t even have the votes to impeach now and there is little chance the left will find 67 Senators to vote to impeach Trump later.

But that didn’t stop the left from gloating all over Michael Cohen’s testimony predicting Trump is done. Enter Chuck Grassley and the rest of the GOP.

From The Washington Examiner: Republican lawmakers Monday said they don’t believe information provided to prosecutors by President Trump’s former personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, implicating the president in a payoff scheme.

“Let me say this about Mr. Cohen,” said Senate Judiciary Committee member John Kennedy, R-La. “I don’t know the man, I’ve just observed him. Jesus loves him but everybody else thinks he’s an idiot.”

“He’s obviously a sleazoid grifter, and if I were a prosecutor, I wouldn’t base a prosecution on evidence given to me by Mr. Cohen,” Kennedy said of Cohen, who has been indicted on charges of lying to Congress.

Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, who is chairman of the Judiciary Committee, told reporters Cohen “is a liar,” and he added: “I don’t give much credibility to what he says.”

Orrin Hatch agreed. He told CNN Manu Raju what he really felt about this non-scandal in a series of tweets today.

“Hatch dismisses allegations of Trump crimes over hush money. Asked if he had any concerns, Hatch said: “The Democrats will do anything to hurt this president.” Told it was alleged by SDNY, Hatch told me: “Okay but I don’t care; all I can say is he’s doing a good job as President”

“Hatch added this when asked if he was concerned about allegations. “No because I don’t think he was involved in crimes but even then, you know, you can make anything a crime under the current laws; if you want to you can blow it way out of proportion you can do a lot of things.”

Hatch also told me: “President Trump before he became president that’s another world. Since he’s become president this economy has charged ahead. … And I think we ought to judge him on that basis other than trying to drum up things from the past that may or may not be true.”

Chuck Grassley agreed telling Raju:

“Grassley, the Senate Judiciary chairman, similarly dismisses the federal prosecutors’ argument: “They based it on what a liar says, so it hurts the credibility of it.”

Rand Paul agrees too From WKMS:

Kentucky Senator Rand Paul says that even if President Donald Trump paid hush money to two mistresses during the 2016 presidential campaign, the payments shouldn’t be considered campaign violations.

Paul went on to say that even if federal election officials find the president guilty of breaking campaign finance law, the violations shouldn’t be considered crimes.

“I don’t think that campaign violations should be criminal. We make things too criminal,” Paul said.
