Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot continues to disgrace and again was caught unaware and did nothing as looters took over a key shopping district last night.
The looting went on for hours and multiple cops were injured. Today she is trying to implement a massive community protection program using all city resources to flood neighborhoods with city workers and cops to stop the violence.
But one reporter asked a simple question and Lori snapped because the answer she knew would doom her for all of history.
A reporter asked if this new round of looting happened because the city did not prosecute the past lootings.
“The reason we’re having this is because the courts are not doing their job? They were going too easy on the looters from the last time around, am I understanding this right?” asked one reporter.
Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot snapped and said, “Do not bait us” rather than answer the question.
“Let’s be clear. Don’t bait us. Don’t bait us. This is a serious situation, people are concerned about their safety.”
“So don’t bait us. What we’re saying is there have to be consequences,” said the Mayor about the looters this time.
Superintendent David Brown said the looters were emboldened by the lack of consequences for the looters. “We have to have consequences for the arrests that Chicago Police officers make.”
