Bette Midler may be losing it. She just went on an unhinged and hard to follow rant about President Trump.
She really doesn’t like his plans for the 4th of July celebration – Trump is calling it a salute to America – and somehow tied in a heat wave in France to prove her point? Who knows with these Hollywood types…
From The Hill: Bette Midler says she’s “ashamed” of President Trump’s planned July 4 event in Washington, slamming the celebration as “a salute to himself.”
The “Wind Beneath my Wings” singer took to Twitter on Tuesday to blast Trump’s Thursday “Salute to America” spectacle on the National Mall.
The Independence Day gathering is poised to include a “phenomenal fireworks display,” according to the Interior Department, as well as remarks by Trump from the Lincoln Memorial. News reports Tuesday also said at least two tanks had arrived in the nation’s capital after Trump had called for a July 4 event that included military hardware.
Midler, a longtime environmental activist, tweeted to her more than 1.6 million followers:
An unheard of 115 degrees in France, one of our allies, and Mr Trump is only interested in putting tanks on the Mall for his salute to himself July 4th. I am so ashamed.
France recorded its highest-ever temperature last week, reaching nearly 115 degrees in the town of Gallargues-le-Montueux.
Last month, Trump ripped Midler on Twitter, calling the “First Wives Club” star a “washed-up psycho” after she shared a fake quote about him online. Midler has repeatedly blasted Trump, saying he generates “so many lies.”
